During my undergraduate studies at Arizona State, I joined the university’s marching band. As an ensemble, we play a wide variety of music from varying genres, including Duke Ellington, Jackson 5, The Beatles, Elton John, Panic! at the Disco, Chic Corea, Tchaikovsky, and more. Our band has hosted a number of well-known groups including The Boston Brass and Tower of Power. During my 5 years in the band, I served as the tenor saxophone section leader for 2 seasons, and I was the featured soloist in several shows. Additionally, I performed with the covert band Dixie Devils – a trad-jazz group comprised of individuals from the band who show an exceptional ability to improvise and solo.
